Grant Boyd was Cortland's top performer with a 10th-place time of 27:06.8 over 8,000 meters

Grant Boyd (Newburgh/Newburgh Free Academy) led four Cortland top-20 runners as the Red Dragons finished in fourth place out of 19 schools at the Roberts Wesleyan Harry F. Anderson Invitational.
Cortland recorded a team score of 99 points, 38 better than Division I St. Bonaventure. Gannon captured the team crown with 45 points, followed by the Division II host school with 52.
Boyd turned in a 10th-place finish (ninth among collegiate entries) in the 183-runner field with his time of 27 minutes, 6.8 seconds over an 8,000-meter layout.
Nolan Vest (Coram/Longwood) placed 12th in 27:14.9, followed by
Chris Thorpe (Pine Bush) in 14th (27:24.9) and
Ryan Konotopskyj (East Amherst/Williamsville North) in 18th (27:34.7). An unattached runner, Alfredo Mazzuca, won the race in 26:16.9, with Gannon's Joseph Westrick the top collegiate runner in 26:37.0.
Cortland's top seven also included
James Forte (Merrick/Sanford H. Calhoun) in 60th place (29:19.6),
Pat Carew (Levittown/Division Avenue) in 66th place (29:30.2), and
Brian Thurston (Long Beach) in 74th place (29:42.2). Two other Red Dragons also finished in the top 100 -
Ryan Behre (Flemington, NJ/Hunterdon Central) in 77th (30:00.3) and
Declan Brown (Brookhaven/St. John the Baptist) in 95th (30:58.5).
Cortland will compete at the Lehigh University Paul Short Run on Friday at 12:15 p.m.
