Rokos Earns Two Individual Wins as Red Dragon Men Defeat New Paltz, 166.5-127.5

Tim Rokos won the 100-yard freestyle and 200-yard IM
CORTLAND, N.Y. – Tim Rokos (Duanesburg) captured two of Cortland's four individual swimming  victories and the Red Dragons racked up numerous runner-up finishes to defeat visiting New Paltz, 166.5-127.5, in men's swimming and diving dual-meet action.

Rokos won the 100-yard freestyle (50.13) and 200-yard individual medley (2:05.80). Jason Boyko (Poughkeepsie/Our Lady of Lourdes) won the 200-yard butterfly (2:03.53) and Eric Kohlhoff (West Islip) captured the 50-yard freestyle (22.82).

Boyko, Billy Donlevy (Bayside/Holy Cross), Nick Galeto (West Islip) and Bailey Eigbrett (Avon) won the meet-ending 400-yard freestyle relay in 3:20.25. Ian Killane (Clifton Park/Shenendehowa) took home winning points in both diving events with scores of 275.58 points on the 3-meter board and 240.52 points on the 1-meter board.

In addition to his two wins, Rokos finished second in the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:50.16). Galeto was runner-up in the 100-yard backstroke (53.21) and 200-yard backstroke (2:02.35), Dylan Cornelia (Deer Park) was second in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:03.97) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:21.58), and Eigbrett placed second in the 50-yard freestyle (23.27) and 100-yard butterfly (56.66).

Donlevy earned a second-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle (51.09) and Brian Cremer (Blue Point/Bayport-Blue Point) was second in the 500-yard freestyle (5:15.59). Patrick Conway (Wantagh/Kellenberg Memorial) finished second behind Killane in both diving events (233.99 on 1-meter, 251.84 on 3-meter). Also, Cortland opened the meet with a second-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay as Galeto, Cornelia, Donlevy and Kohlhoff were clocked in 1:41.13.

Cortland will host Oswego on Wednesday, Jan. 17 at 4 p.m.
