BRYN ATHYN, PA. –  The Cortland men's ice hockey team scored four straight goals to erase a 2-1 deficit and defeated Bryn Athyn, 5-2, Sunday afternoon in non-conference action. The Red Dragons improved to 7-9 with the victory, while the Lions fell to 6-8-1.

Senior Andrew McCann (Bowmanville, ON/Wellington Dukes) and freshman Michael Faliero (West Seneca/Buffalo Jr. Sabres) led Cortland with a goal and an assist apiece. Sophomores Douglas Elgstam (Stockholm, Sweden/New Jersey Rockets) and Connor Beck (Richmond Hill, ON/Toronto Jr. Canadiens) and freshman Scott Docherty (Oakville, ON/Georgetown Raiders) each netted a goal. Freshman Alex Storjohann (Anthem, AZ/Kirkland Lake) recorded two assists, and four other each collected one assist. Senior goalie Drew Weigman (Annapolis, MD/Northern Cyclones) made 15 saves.

Anthony Notorfrancesco and Nikita Smirnov tallied unassisted goals for Bryn Athyn, Goalie McKenzie Chalmers turned aside 45 shots.

After Elgstam gave Cortland a 1-0 lead on the power play at 7:02 of the opening period, Notorfrancesco and and Smirnov netted goals just 34 seconds apart just over six minutes later to give the Lions a 2-1 lead before Beck tied the score at 17:44.

Faliero scored the game-winning goal at 10:48 of the second period on the power play, and McCann made it a 4-2 score at 17:35. Docherty's power-play goal at 1:33 of the third period produced the final margin of 5-2.
