PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – With the score tied 2-2 after two periods, the nationally top-ranked Plattsburgh women's ice hockey team scored three unanswered goals in the third period to earn a 5-2 victory versus Cortland Sunday afternoon in the second game of a two-game weekend series in NEWHL action. With the setback, the Red Dragons dropped to 6-9-2 overall and 1-8-1 in the conference, while the Cardinals improved to 15-2 and 10-0.

Katonka gave the Cardinals a 1-0 lead at 4:18 of the first period when she scored in front off a cross from the right side. Calamari tied the game on the power play just under five minutes later. After Plattsburgh failed to clear the puck from its defensive zone, Calamari gained possession and snapped a shot inside the left post from the edge of the right circle. The lone goal of the second period came off Calamari's stick. Plattsburgh sent the puck just inside Cortland's blue line. Calamari intercepted the puck, skated into the Cardinals' zone and wristed a shot from the high slot into the upper right corner for her fourth goal of the season.
In the decisive third period, Moriarty scored the game winner at 4:18 on a rebound after Farmer denied a breakaway attempt by Meneghin. Plattsburgh went ahead 4-2 at 9:46 on Meneghin's power-play and completed the scoring at 13:07 when McArdle scored.
