ITHACA, N.Y. – The Cortland women's and men's cross teams competed at the Cornell University John Reif Memorial Invitational.
Kristen LaBianca (Syosset) finished 19th out of 34 runners to lead the Red Dragon women and Kellen Martin (Salamanca/Cattaraugus-Little Valley) led the Cortland men with a 30th-place finish out of 47 runners. There was no team scoring at the event.
Cortland rested a majority of its cross country roster, and many of the Red Dragon competitors at the race normally compete in track and field only. Cortland will compete at the SUNYAC Championships next Saturday at Fredonia.
LaBianca ran the 5,000-meter Cornell Moakley Course in 24:15.4. Cornell's Annie Glodek won the race in 18:35.4.
Kaylee Uhl (Waverly) finished 20th in 25:27.0,
Jesse Correale (Staten Island/Notre Dame Academy) was 21st in 25:27.1, and
Lauren Hernandez (Beacon) finished 22nd in 27:02.3.
Martin finished the 5,000-meter course in 19:46.0. Matthew Scrape, an unattached runner from Syracuse University, won the race in 15:23.3. Ricky Castello (New Rochelle) finished in 32nd place in 20:05.0. Connor Lewis (Glen Ridge) was 35th in 20:28.
