GENESEO, N.Y. – The nationally seventh-ranked Geneseo men's hockey team opened up a 4-0 lead early in the second period and went on to a 6-1 victory over Cortland Saturday night in SUNYAC action.

Sophomore Douglas Elgstam (Stockholm, Sweden/New Jersey Rockets) scored his fourth goal of the season for the Red Dragons (9-13-1, 4-9-1 SUNYAC). Sophomore Sean Perichak (Oakville, ON/Markham Royals) and freshman Louis DiMatteo (Nobleton, ON/Trenton Golden Hawks) each recorded an assist. Senior Drew Weigman (Annapolis, MD/Northern Cyclones) started in goal, making 29 saves in 36:57. Sophomore Nick Modica (Suffern/New Jersey Hitmen) turned aside 19 shots in 23:03.

Arthur Gordon led the Knights (16-5-3, 9-3-3 SUNYAC) with a pair of goals. David Szmyd tallied one goal and two assists, and Conlan Keenan, Carson Kelley and Tanner Salsberry each netted a goal. Tyson Empey, Mitch Ferguson, Anthony Marra and Andrew Romano registered two assists apiece. Goalie Devin McDonald made 10 saves.
