Zach Healy won the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle races and swam a leg on the winning 200-yard freestyle relay team

Zach Healy (Orchard Park),
Dylan Cornelia (Deer Park) and
Nick Galeto (West Islip) each won two events to lead the Cortland men's swimming and diving team past host Fredonia, 179-117, in dual action to conclude the 2017-18 regular season.
Healy won the 50-yard freestyle in 23.11 seconds and the 100-yard freestyle in 49.81 seconds. Cornelia touched the wall first in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:03.18) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:21.51), and Galeto won the 100-yard backstroke (54.28) and 200-yard backstroke (2:02.03).
Billy Donlevy (Bayside/Holy Cross) won the 400-yard individual medley (4:28.94) and finished second in the 100-yard butterfly (54.39). Cortland also won both relays at the meet. Galeto, Cornelia, Donlevy and
Eric Kohlhoff (West Islip) captured the 200-yard medley relay (1:41.25), and
Tim Rokos (Duanesburg), Healy, Kohlhoff and
Bailey Eigbrett (Avon) won the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:30.17).
Anthony McGorisk (East Hampton) lost two close battles with Healy in the freestyle sprints. He was second by just one hundredth of a second in the 50-yard freestyle (23.12), and lost by 0.24 seconds in the 100-yard freestyle (50.05). Kohlhoff finished third in the 100 free (50.99) to complete a sweep of the top three spots in that race.
Three Red Dragons picked up a pair of runner-up finishes each. Rokos was second in the 200-yard freestyle (1:48.95) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:24.67),
Ian Killane (Clifton Park/Shenendehowa) placed second in both 1-meter diving (255.45 points) and 3-meter diving (248.10 points), and
Brady Stein (Portville) was second in the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:40.36) and 500-yard freestyle (5:09.46), the latter as an exhibition entry.
Cortland took the top three spots in the 400-yard IM as Donlevy was followed by
Jason Boyko (Poughkeepsie/Our Lady of Lourdes) (4:33.33) and
Noah Farmer (New Hartford) (4:35.16). The Red Dragons also swept the 200-yard backstroke Farmer (2:08.46) and
Alex Fisher (Smithtown/Hauppauge) (2:09.31) finished second and third behind Galeto.
Also for Cortland,
Thomas Ryan (Long Beach) was second in the 100-yard backstroke (55.47),
John Eforo (Scarsdale) placed second in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:06.18), and
Adam Kirchgessner (West Irondequoit) finished second in the 200-yard butterfly (2:06.30).
Cortland will compete at the SUNYAC Championships at Erie Community in Buffalo Feb. 21-24. Men's diving (3-meter), along with the finals of the men's and women's 800-yard freestyle relay, starts on the 21st, with the full competition starting on the 22nd.
