MONTCLAIR, N.J. – The nationally 10th-ranked Montclair St. field hockey team tallied a pair of first-half goals less than four minutes apart and defeated 16th-ranked Cortland, 2-0, Saturday afternoon in non-conference action at Sprague Field. With the setback, the Red Dragons had their record even at 2-2, while the Red Hawks improved to 4-0.

Kailynne Reinoehl (Lititz, PA/Warwick) registered four saves for Cortland. Her counterpart for Montclair St., Nicole Andriani, stopped five shots, including four in the second half.
Kaitlyn Prestinari and Kellie Vizzuso each scored goals for the Red Hawks with Amber Haslet recording an assist.
Prestinari gave Montclair St. a 1-0 lead at the 22:43 mark, deflecting a pass from Haslet in front. Vizzuso made it a 2-0 game at 26:01 when she converted a penalty stroke. Cortland outshot the Red Hawks, 6-3, in the second half but could not cut into Montclair St.'s lead as the Red Hawks held on for the 2-0 victory.
