Cortland Men Lose Dual Meet at Hartwick Despite Seven Individual Victories

ONEONTA, N.Y. – Cortland earned seven individual victories in a 163-125 men's swimming and diving dual-meet loss at Hartwick College.

Nick Galeto (West Islip) and Patrick Conway (Wantagh/Kellenberg Memorial) picked up two wins apiece for the Red Dragons. Galeto won the 100-yard backstroke (53.82) and 200-yard backstroke (2:01.91) and Conway won 1-meter (231.15 points) and 3-meter (213.25 points) diving.

Hunter Bernhardt (Groton) won the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:19.60) and was second in the 500-yard freestyle (5:02.64). Eric Kohlhoff (West Islip) captured top honors in the 50-yard freestyle (22.44) and Billy Donlevy (Bayside/Holy Cross) took first in the 100-yard butterfly (56.23).

Tim Rokos (Duanesburg) finished second in three events – the 200-yard butterfly (2:06.75), the 200-yard backstroke (2:03.39) and the 200-yard individual medley (2:05.99). Cortland also placed second in both relays, with Galeto, Noah Farmer (New Hartford), Bailey Eigbrett (Avon) and Kohlhoff clocking in at 1:41.63 in the 200-yard medley relay and Kohlhoff, Rokos, Galeto and Jason Boyko (Poughkeepsie/Our Lady of Lourdes) finishing the 400-yard freestyle relay in 3:25.42.

Cortland will travel to New Paltz for a dual meet on Friday, Jan. 11 at 4 p.m.
