HAMILTON, N.Y. - The Cortland men's basketball team lost at Division I Colgate University, 89-50, in a game that's officially an exhibition for the Red Dragons but a countable game for the host Raiders.
Eric Edwards (Binghamton) led Cortland with 15 points and also grabbed six rebounds.
Austin Grunder (Trumansburg/Charles O. Dickerson) added seven points and seven rebounds and
Greg Cassiano (East Islip) made both of his shots from the field and finished with five points.
Colgate (2-3) was led by Rapolas Ivanauskas with 18 points on 8-of-9 shooting. Nelly Cummings scored 16 points and Jordan Burns dished out eight assists. Cortland led 5-4 early, was within 16-13 seven minutes into the contest and trailed only 22-17 with seven minutes left in the first half. The Raiders, however, extended their lead to 43-26 at halftime and continued to pull away in the second half.
The Red Dragons are idle until traveling to Geneseo on Dec. 6 at 7:30 p.m. for their SUNYAC opener.Â
