ONEONTA, N.Y. – Junior Dylan Dubuque (East Greenbush/Columbia) and sophomore Demitreus Henry (Brooklyn/Grand Street Campus) won individual titles to lead the Cortland wrestling team at the 2020 Empire Collegiate Wrestling Conference Championships hosted by Oneonta. The Red Dragons had 14 placewinners overall at the competition and finished second as a team with 145.5 points. Ithaca won the team title with 201 points.

Both Dubuque and Henry posted 3-0 records. Dubuque won the 197-pound weight class, earning a 10-2 major decision over Oneonta's Matthew Burge in the quarterfinals before recording a 7-6 decision in the semifinals against Jhordyn Innocent of Oneonta in the semifinals and a 3-1 decision versus Oswego's Aidan Matthews in the finals. Henry opened with a 16-1 technical fall over Chris Coyle of Oneonta. he moved onto the finals with a pin of Issac Matthews of Oswego in 4:05 and earned the title with a 5-3 sudden-victory win over Ithaca's Jordan Wallace.

The Red Dragons claimed one runner-up showing by senior Kevin Morgans (Liberty) at 184 pounds and two third-place finishes with Ben Lloyd (Woodbridge, VA/Forest Park) at 125 pounds and freshman Ben Bivar (Noblesville, IN/Bainbridge-Guilford (NY)) at 157 pounds. Morgans decisioned Cole Giroux of RIT, 9-7, in the quarterfinals. He then earned a 3-2 decision against Trevor Snow of RIT in the semifinals before falling to top-seeded Chibueze Chukwuezi, 6-3, in the championship bout. Lloyd posted a 4-1 record, including a 12-1 major decision over Tyler Skala of Oneonta in the third-place match. Bivar also went 4-1, capped off by a 4-2 decision versus Ithaca's Colin Murphy in the third-place match.
