Five Cortland student-athletes - graduate students
Brent DiVittorio (Brewster) and
Nolan Vest (Coram/Longwood), seniors
Ryan Konotopskyj (East Amherst/Williamsville North) and
Connor Lewis (Glen Ridge), and junior
David Bernstein (Norwich) - have been selected to the 2020 United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division III Track and Field All-Academic Team.
To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, student-athletes must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 on a converted 4.0 scale. They also have to had finished the regular season ranked in the national top 50 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 35 in a relay event on TFRRS.org.
DiVittorio just completed his graduate work in adolescence education-biology with a 3.72 grade point average. He previously earned a bachelor's degree in biology with a 3.34 GPA. Vest is currently a graduate student in international sport management with a 3.87 GPA after earning his bachelor's degree in sport management last August with a 3.28 GPA. Konotopskyj majored in sport management and graduated this past May with a 3.83 GPA, and Lewis also graduated in May with a 3.77 GPA in exercise science. Bernstein currently has a 3.42 GPA in outdoor recreation.
DiVittorio ranked fifth nationally in Division III in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.06 seconds. Bernstein ranked 23rd nationally in the weight throw at 17.78 meters (58' 4") and Vest was 45th in the mile run at 4:16.94. Konotopskyj, Lewis and Vest were part of a Distance Medley Relay unit that ranked 25th nationally (10:06.30), and Lewis was also a member of Cortland's 24th-ranked 4x400-meter relay (3:20.25).
