WALWORTH, N.Y. and PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The Cortland women's golf team swept the top five individual places, led by tournament medalist Paige Cerminaro (Howell, NJ), and the Red Dragons easily claimed the team crown at the Nazareth Invitational to conclude the fall portion of its schedule.
 
Cortland recorded a 337 Saturday at The Links at Greystone and a 326 Sunday at the Irondequoit Country Club to finish with a score of 663. Nazareth was second at 741 (372-369) and St. Lawrence was third at 858 (420-438). William Smith did not finish with a team score due to a golfer withdrawing on Sunday, and St. John Fisher had only individual competitors at the tournament.
 
Cerminaro won the tournament with a 160, carding an 81 Saturday and a 79 Sunday. Alivia Waldron (Saranac) finished second at 166 (83 each day), followed by Sophie Oristian (Gaithersburg, MD/Quince Orchard) in third at 169 (86-83).
 
Claudia Winterberg (Harrisburg, NC/Hickory Ridge) placed fourth at 170 (89-81) and Amanda Gaffney (Williamsville/Williamsville East) was fifth at 172 (87-85), one stroke ahead of William Smith's Justine Burness. Kristina Visniesky (Buffalo/Orchard Park), as an individual entry, was ninth in the 22-golfer field with a 181 (86-95).
 
Cerminaro and Winterberg each birdied four holes over the weekend, with Cerminaro also posting 14 pars and Winterberg with 12 pars. Waldron had three birdies and a tournament-high 17 pars and Gaffney parred 16 holes. Oristian registered a birdie and 12 pars, while Visniesky had 11 pars over the two days.
