HERSHEY, PA. – The Cortland women's ice hockey team broke open a 0-0 tie after two periods with three goals over the final 20 minutes to earn a 3-0 win at Lebanon Valley Saturday afternoon in non-conference action. The Red Dragons improved to 2-0, while the Dutchmen fell to 1-1.
Junior
Elena Eichmann (Rochester/Syracuse Nationals) paced Cortland with a goal and an assist. Graduate student
Grace Schnorr (Camillus/Little Caesars) and junior
Dany Donegan (Cicero/Syracuse Nationals) each added a goal, while five others collected one assist apiece.
Sophomore goalie
Anna Hamid (Mineola/New Jersey Colonials) made 12 saves in posting the shutout in her first collegiate start. Goalie Olivia Magneson registered 45 saves for Lebanon Valley.
After a scoreless first two periods, Donegan scored the game winner on the power play 1:05 into the third period. Schnorr netted her third goal of the season at 5:56, and Eichmann added another insurance goal at 7:49 for the 3-0 final.
