Eight SUNY Cortland players have been named to the 2021 State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Women's Soccer all-league team.

Jaden Galluzzo (Commack), freshman midfielder
Katie Cosenza (East Setauket/Ward Melville) and junior defender
Bryn Thompson (Hopewell Junction/Arlington) were chosen to the all-conference first team. Sophomore forward
Simone Neivel (Syracuse/C.W. Baker) and junior forward
Sabrina Rodrigues (West Hempstead) were second team selections, while graduate student midfielder
Alannah O'Shea (New Hyde Park/Herricks), junior midfielder
Lizzy Sabatelle (Poughkeepsie/Roy C. Ketcham) and junior goalie
Lexi Ramonetti (Northport) were voted to the third team.Â

Galluzzo earned all-league honors for the second time; she was a second team honoree in 2019. This fall she started all 18 games and finished with 11 goals, including four game winners, and six assists for 28 points. She led the Red Dragons in goals and points and was second in assists. Galluzzo scored two goals and assisted on another in a SUNYAC tournament semifinal win at Plattsburgh, and she scored two goals each in wins over Potsdam and Oneonta.Â

Cosenza started all 18 games and ended the season with a goal and four assists for six points. She recorded two assists each in wins over Oneonta and Potsdam, and she scored a goal in Cortland's SUNYAC tournament first round win versus Brockport.Â

Thompson played in 18 games, 17 as a starter. She assisted on a goal in a 2-2 tie at New Paltz, and she helped lead a defensive unit that gave up just four goals in nine regular-season conference games.Â

Neivel, a starter in all 18 games, finished with seven goals and three assists for 17 points. She ranked second on the team in goals and points. Neivel scored twice in an early-season win at Nazareth, assisted on two goals in a win over Fredonia, and scored four goals during the conference regular season.Â

Rodrigues appeared in 16 games, eight as a starter, and totaled six goals and two assists for 14 points. She was third on the Red Dragon team in points and tied for third in goals. Rodrigues scored both of Cortland's goals in a 2-2 tie at New Paltz among her five goals during conference regular-season play, and she also scored a goal in the Red Dragons' SUNYAC tournament first round win over Brockport.Â

O'Shea earned all-league recognition for the second time; she was a second team choice in 2019. This fall she started all 18 games and finished with a goal and a team-high seven assists for nine points. O'Shea had a goal and an assist in a win over Buffalo State and registered two assists in Cortland's SUNYAC tournament first round win over Brockport.Â

Sabatelle played in 18 games, 17 as a starter, and finished the year with six goals, including three game winners, and one assist for 13 points. She tied for third on the team in goals and was fourth in points. Five of her six goals came during SUNYAC regular-season action.Â

Ramonetti started 12 games this fall and finished with an 8-2-2 record, 0.70 GAA, .886 save percentage and five shutouts, plus a share of two other shutouts. During the conference regular season she was 6-1-2 with a 0.47 GAA, .913 save percentage and four shutouts, plus two other shared shutouts. Ramonetti made 11 saves in Cortland's SUNYAC tournament semifinal win at Plattsburgh and 10 saves in a regular-season victory at Brockport, both shutouts.Â

Cortland finished the season with a 10-5-3 record. The Red Dragons placed third in the SUNYAC regular-season standings with a 6-1-2 mark. Cortland then defeated sixth-seeded Brockport, 4-3, and second-seeded Plattsburgh, 3-0, in the conference tournament before losing at top-seeded Geneseo, 1-0, in the championship match to finish as SUNYAC runner-up.
