Bryn Thompson (Hopewell Junction/Arlington) and senior forward
Jaden Galluzzo (Commack) have been named to the 2021 United Soccer Coaches Division III Region 3 women's soccer all-region team. Thompson is a first team selection and Galluzzo was chosen to the second team.
Galluzzo started all 18 games this fall and finished with 11 goals, including four game winners, along with six assists for 28 points. She led the Red Dragons in goals and points and was second in assists. Galluzzo scored two goals and assisted on another in a SUNYAC tournament semifinal win at Plattsburgh, and she scored two goals each in wins over Potsdam and Oneonta.
Thompson played in 18 games, 17 as a starter. She assisted on a goal in a 2-2 tie at New Paltz, and she helped lead a defensive unit that gave up 22 goals, including one or less 13 times.
Cortland finished the season with a 10-5-3 record. The Red Dragons placed third in the SUNYAC regular-season standings with a 6-1-2 mark. Cortland then defeated sixth-seeded Brockport, 4-3, and second-seeded Plattsburgh, 3-0, in the conference tournament before losing at top-seeded Geneseo, 1-0, in the championship match to finish as SUNYAC runner-up.
