Schnorr Sets Scoring Mark in 5-4 Setback vs. Oswego

CORTLAND, N.Y. – The Oswego women's hockey team closed the third period with three consecutive goals to earn a come-from-behind, 5-4, victory over Cortland Friday night in NEWHL action at Alumni Arena. The Lakers improved to 6-2-1 overall and 3-2-1 in the conference. The Red Dragons fell to 5-2 and 3-2.

Despite the defeat, Cortland graduate student Grace Schnorr (Camillus/Little Caesars) became Cortland's career leader in points since the program was re-established in the 2000-01 season, picking up a goal and two assists. Schnorr raised her point total to 68 on a record-best 42 goals and 26 assists, breaking the mark of 67 points set by Dani Blanchard from 2002-06.

Graduate student Katie DeVoe (Mississauga, ON/Vaughan Flames), junior Elena Eichmann (Rochester/Syracuse Nationals) and freshman Destiny Bautista (Quesnel, BC/Okanagan Hockey Academy) each added a goal for the Red Dragons. Seniors Amanda Gaffney (Williamsville/Amherst Knights) and Emily Kromer (Angola/Nazareth College), juniors Molly McCabe (Webster/Webster Thomas H.S. Boys) and Dany Donegan (Cicero/Syracuse Nationals) and freshman Gillian Zwolak (Stoney Creek, ON/Ancaster Avalanche) collected one assist apiece.

Sophomore goalie Anna Hamid (Mineola/New Jersey Colonials) registered 24 saves for the Red Dragons. Sophomore goalie Joanna Hiebert (Highland, MI/Meijer) made 22 saves for the Lakers.

Senior Chyne Kennedy (Southwold, ON/Morrisville St.) recorded a goal and two assists to lead Oswego. Sophomore Kyleigh Grugin (Knoxville, TN/Pittsburgh Penguins Elite) and freshmen Mack Hull (Watertown/Northwood School), Simone Bednarik (Elmhurst, IL/HC SKP Bratislava) and Lizzie Burke (San Jose, CA/St. Louis AAA Blues) each netted a goal, while junior Ariella Haas (Albany/Elmira College) recorded two assists and sophomore Morgan Shines (Marengo, IL/Chicago Mission) contributed one assist.
