Cortland sophomore forward
Corinne Miedreich (Pearl River) has been selected as the PrestoSports State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week for the week ending Dec. 5.
Miedreich helped lead Cortland to a 3-0 week by averaging 14.3 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game in just 24 minutes per game off the bench.Â

She opened the week with 16 points, eight rebounds and two assists in a win at Oswego Tuesday. She scored 13 points and dished out three assists Friday in a 30-point home win over Brockport, and the next afternoon on the road scored 14 points and grabbed four rebounds in a win at Fredonia.
For the week, Miedreich shot 54 percent from the floor, including 56 percent (5-for-9) from 3-point range. Through eight games this season, she is averaging 11.6 points and 4.5 rebounds per game and is shooting 52 percent from the floor overall and 48 percent (10-of-21) from the 3-point arc.Â
