JAMESVILLE, N.Y. –
Danielle Bambola (Miller Place) scored an even-par 72 to claim her fourth straight tournament title of the season at the Le Moyne Spring Invitational. The tournament was held at The Pompey Club, the same site where Bambola the previous day scored a 74 to win the CNY Spring Invitational.
Cortland competed with two Division II schools at the tournament. St. Rose won the team title with a 333, while Le Moyne edged Cortland by seven strokes for the runner-up spot, 362-369.
Amanda Gaffney (Williamsville/Williamsville East) finished in sixth place with an 85,
Rachel Curatolo (Poughkeepsie/Spackenkill) was 11th with a season-best 99, and
Kira Graves (Manlius/Fayetteville-Manlius) finished 13th with a 113.
Bambola covered the par-35 front nine one under par, opening with a birdie followed by eight pars. After parring the 10th and 11th holes, she struggled briefly with two bogeys, but quickly rebounded to par the next three holes. Bambola finished the day with a birdie four on the par-5 17th and a par on the 18th.
Gaffney's round featured seven pars as she posted a 40 on the front and 45 on the back. Curatolo registered a 45 on the front nine, including a birdie two on the third hole.
Cortland returns to action April 25 at the Northeast Women's Golf Conference Championship in Colonie. The Red Dragons are the defending league champion, having won the title in the fall of 2019.
