POTSDAM, N.Y. – Cortland scored eight runs in the first inning of Game 1 and seven runs in the second and fifth innings of Game 2 on the way to a SUNYAC East sweep at Potsdam, 14-2 and 18-2. Both games were called after five innings due to the eight-run rule.
Cortland's originally scheduled home doubleheader versus Potsdam has been canceled. The Red Dragons (14-6, 11-3 SUNYAC East) are scheduled to host Buffalo State, a SUNYAC West member, in a non-league doubleheader Saturday at 2 p.m.

Potsdam broke up Cortland's shutout bid with a Fish RBI single and a Morgan Brown sacrifice fly in the fifth.
GAME 2: Cortland 18, Potsdam 2 (5 inn.)
Cortland held only a 3-2 lead after one inning, but put up seven-run spots in both the second and fifth innings along a run in the fourth. The Red Dragons finished with 22 hits in the game and a combined 35 in the doubleheader, matching their season best for combined hits set in a home sweep of New Paltz April 7.
Felicello was 4-for-5 with a double, RBI and three runs, Finno finished 3-for-3 with a double and two RBI, Weber went 3-for-4 with three RBI and two runs, and Cuttita was 3-for-4 with a walk, two RBI and three runs. For Potsdam (1-5, 0-4 SUNYAC East), Fish went 2-for-2 with a double and an RBI to complete a 5-for-5 doubleheader and Abby Vaughn was 1-for-2 with an RBI.
Cuttita and Szesnat singled in runs and Finno hit an RBI double in Cortland's three-run first. Fish's RBI double and Vaughn's run-scoring single cut the Bears' deficit to 3-2, but they left a runner stranded at second.
Cortland sent 11 batters to the plate in the second. The seven-run frame featured a Felicello RBI single, Szesnat's two-run double, a Finno sac fly, and a Weber two-run single. The Red Dragons' first run of the inning scored on an unique two-base sac fly as O'Gorman flew out to deep center and
Tori Reich (Cornwall) caught the defense napping and scored from second base.
Cuttita's RBI single in the fourth extended the lead to 11-2. In the fifth, one run scored on an error, followed by back-to-back RBI singles from Weber and
Lizzy Byers (New Paltz). A Felicello single and Cuttita walk loaded the bases, and Peace quickly unloaded them with a blast over the fence in left.
