Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the SUNY Cortland Athletics Department is once again this year honoring its student-athletes as part of an online "Awards Week" series of releases May 10-14 instead of conducting the C-Club Athletics Awards Ceremony.

The awards announced on Tuesday, May 11, are the annual Red Letter Awards for the winter teams. Each year, the Cortland head coaches select a winner in their respective sports. The Red Letter may be given for outstanding athletic skills, team leadership, personal development as a player, or for any combination of reasons. As with the fall sports, Cortland's winter teams did not compete in 2020-21, but coaches are still giving out Red Letter Awards.

The 2020-21 Winter Red Letter Award winners, by sport, are as follows:
 
Men's Basketball: Ben Walters, Sr. (Lockport/Starpoint)
Women's Basketball: Meghan Flanagan, Sr. (Rochester/Brighton)
Women's Gymnastics: Emily Speciale, Sr. (San Antonio, TX/James Madison)
Men's Ice Hockey: Hayden Hart, Jr. (Potsdam/Northwood)
Women's Ice Hockey: Chelsea Allain, Sr. (Malta/Canterbury School)
Men's Swimming and Diving: Lance Meeson, Fr. (Clifton Park/Shenendehowa)
Women's Swimming and Diving: Marissa Kordal, Sr. (Eden)
Wrestling: Demitreus Henry, Jr. (Brooklyn/Grand Street Campus)
 
There are no indoor track and field Red Letter Awards this year. Outdoor track and field awards will be announced as part of Wednesday's spring announcement.
