Graduate student women's golfer Danielle Bambola (Miller Place) and senior baseball designated hitter Paul Franzese (Somers) have been named as the SUNY Cortland Athletes of the Week for the week ending May 16.

Danielle finished in 17th place out of 131 golfers at the NCAA Division III Championships in East Lansing, Mich. She registered a four-day score of 315, starting with a 78 on Tuesday, 80s on Wednesday and Thursday, and a 77 on Friday. Bambola is the second golfer in Cortland history to compete at the NCAA Division III nationals.

Paul Franzese
Paul went a combined 5-for-7 with a triple, double, walk, two RBI and three runs scored during Cortland's two-game sweep of Brockport in the SUNYAC tournament semifinals. He was 3-for-4 with a triple in the Red Dragons' opening 11-4 win and went 2-for-3 with a double and a walk in a 3-1 win in Game 2.
