Kelly O'Gorman (Clifton Park/Shenendehowa) and senior first baseman
Lexi Szesnat (Colonie) have been chosen as 2021 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division III Softball All-Americans. O'Gorman was named to the national second team and Szesnat was selected to the third team.
Â

O'Gorman registered 17 multiple-hit games, including 4-for-4 performances in Game 3 of the SUNYAC semifinals series versus Buffalo State and in a regular-season home win over New Paltz.
Â

Â
Cortland has now had 20 different players earn at least one softball All-America award. The most recent Red Dragon honorees were Lucia Meola, who was a third-team selection three straight years from 2011-13, and Meaghan Kohler and Abby Martin, who were both first-team honorees in 2012.
Â
Cortland finished the season with a 20-10 overall record and won the SUNYAC Eastern division with an 11-3 mark. The Red Dragons advanced to the SUNYAC finals – an accomplishment the program has achieved every season since 1998 – before losing in the third game of the best-of-three series against Geneseo.
