Mason Arnberg won the 100-yard breaststroke and 200-yard IM and finished second in the 200-yard breaststroke
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Cortland men's swimming and diving team defeated Division II Le Moyne College, 170-124, in a road dual meet. The Red Dragons earned nine victories on the afternoon, including two apiece by
Sean Zupko (Montgomery/Valley Central),
Mason Arnberg (Dix Hills/Half Hollow Hills East) and
Ethan Domanico (New Windsor/Newburgh Free Academy).
Zupko won both the 1,650-yard freestyle (17:16.13) and 500-yard freestyle (5:01.58). Arnberg was victorious in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:01.82) and the 200-yard individual medley (2:04.97), and he finished second in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:19.70). Domanico won both the 200-yard butterfly (2:05.90) and 100-yard butterfly (54.62).
Alex Hilldale (Binghamton/Chenango Valley) won the 100-yard backstroke (54.79) and
Josh Chamak (New City/Clarkstown North) touched the wall first in the 200-yard backstroke (2:05.87).
Since there was no 3-meter diving event, the 1-meter competition was broken down and scored as two parts.
Lance Meeson (Clifton Park/Shenendehowa) won one section with 189.40 points and was second in the other with 261.80 points for a total score of 451.20 points.
Sam Zani (Rochester/Irondequoit) was the runner-up in 50-yard freestyle (22.57) and 100-yard freestyle (50.40).
Nick Dambra (Brockport) was second in the 200-yard freestyle (1:53.09). Cortland swept the top three spots in the 500-yard freestyle - in addition to Zupko's win,
Mason Rowlands (Campbell Hall/Washingtonville) finished second (5:09.89) and
Patrick Kivlehan (Highland Mills/Monroe-Woodbury) was third (5:19.48).
