COLLEGEVILLE, PA. – Behind the strength of nine placewinners, the Cortland wrestling team finished in second place out of 14 teams at the Ursinus College Racich Rumble on Saturday.
 
The Red Dragons scored 116.5 points, 6.5 behind Alvernia's winning total of 123. Delaware Valley (104), York (Pa.) (103.5) and NYU (102.5) rounded out the top five.
 
Two Cortland wrestlers won their weight classes at the event. J.C. Cardenas (Brooklyn/Grand Street Campus) went 5-0 with three pins and a technical fall to take the title at 133 pounds and Cahal Donovan (Marietta/Marcellus) finished 5-0 with two technical falls and two major decisions to claim the crown at 141 pounds. Two other Red Dragons earned runner-up finishes. Demitreus Henry (Brooklyn/Grand Street Campus) went 3-1 with a pin and a major decision to finish second at 184 pounds. His loss in the finals was by injury default while he was leading the match. Brian Torres (Brooklyn/Grand Street Campus) placed second at 174 pounds with a 5-1 mark, including one pin.
 
Chris Mableton (Bay Shore) earned a third-place finish at 141 pounds with a 5-1 record that featured two pins and a major decision. Adam Barker (Holbrook/Sachem North) went 5-1 with three pins and a technical fall to finish fourth at 174 pounds. At 125 pounds, Justin Amendola (Rocky Point) finished in fifth place with a 3-2 record, featuring one major decision, and Richard Munoz (Centereach/Ward Melville) was sixth with a 5-1 mark, including a pin and two technical falls. Kyle Klein (Miller Place) posted a 4-2 record with a pin, technical fall and major decision to finish sixth at 157 pounds.
