OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego women's hockey team scored a pair of second-period goals and defeated nationally 12th-ranked Cortland, 2-1, Friday night in NEWHL action. The Red Dragons dropped to 4-1 overall and 2-1 in the conference. The Lakers improved to 4-3 and 4-1.

Grace Schnorr (Camillus/Little Caesars) scored Cortland's goal with junior
Kait Bourgeois (Cobden, ON/Ottawa Thunder) assisting. Sophomore goalie
Molly Goergen (Eden Prairie, MN) made 22 saves.
Mack Hull and Simone Bednarik each recorded a goal and an assist for Oswego. Avery Webster collected an assist. Goalie Lexi Levy registered 19 saves.
Schnorr opened the scoring at 14:33 of the first period, scoring on a partial breakaway with a snap shot into the upper right corner of the goal after receiving a long pass from Bourgeois.
Hull tied the game 9:09 into the second period with a deflection in front. Bednarik netted the game winner with just eight seconds left in the period, scoring on a backhand from the right side after the Lakers won a defensive-zone faceoff.
The Red Dragons pulled Goergen for an extra skater with 51 seconds left in regulation but could not score the equalizer as Oswego held on for the 2-1 win..
The same two teams meet at Cortland on Saturday at 3 p.m.
