Cortland Women Drop Dual-Meet Decision at Ithaca; Bernhardt Wins Two Events

Emily Lantry finished second in the 200-yard backstroke and anchored Cortland's second-place 400-yard medley relay team
ITHACA, N.Y. – Leah Bernhardt (Groton) won two events and placed second in another during Cortland's 215-85 women's swimming and diving dual-meet loss at Ithaca College.
 
Bernhardt won the 1,000-yard freestyle in 11:07.29 and the 500-yard freestyle in 5:25.84, and she was runner-up in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:02.41.
 
Areiannah Martinez-Reyes (Queens/Benjamin Cardozo) finished second in the 200-yard butterfly (2:18.57), Alayna Miller (Hilton) was second in the 100-yard freestyle (57.47) and Emily Lantry (Massena/St. Lawrence) placed second in the 200-yard backstroke (2:17.99). The combination of Kaitlyn Devaney (Lynbrook), Mackenzie Dickman (Montgomery/Valley Central), Martinez-Reyes and Lantry finished second in the 400-yard medley relay (4:14.75).
 
Cortland will host Buffalo State in a dual meet on Saturday, Nov. 19, at 1 p.m.
