WILLIAMSPORT, PA. – The Cortland wrestling team opened its 2022-23 season Sunday at the Lycoming College Invitational. The non-team scoring event featured eight schools competing in round-robin brackets broken down by freshman/sophomore and junior/senior groups. 
 
Of Cortland's 28 wrestlers at the event, 18 were undefeated on the day. Cahal Donovan (Marietta/Marcellus), Chris Mableton (Bay Shore) and Demitreus Henry (Brooklyn/Grand Street Campus) each finished 4-0, with Mableton and Henry each registering three pins. J.C. Cardenas (Brooklyn/Grand Street Campus) was 3-0 with three pins, while Devin Walker (Brentwood), Nick Ross (Woodstock/Onteora), Kyle Klein (Miller Place), Dan Cassera (Setauket/Ward Melville) and Adam Barker (Holbrook/Sachem North) each had two pins among their three wins at the tournament. 
 
Other 3-0 finishers for the Red Dragons were Shane Walczyk (Eden), Angelo Centrone (Mahopac), Justin Klein (Miller Place), Joey Pillittieri (Falconer), Pat Ross (Woodstock/Onteora) and Richard Munoz (Centreach/Ward Melville). Gabriel Willins (Brentwood), Justin Amendola (Rocky Point) and Jaden Datz (Pittsburgh, PA/Southmoreland) each registered 2-0 records. 
 
Cortland returns to action on Saturday at the Racich Rumble, hosted by Ursinus College.
