Corey Gymnasium during the Rumble & Tumble gymnastics/wrestling combined event vs. Ithaca
CORTLAND, N.Y. -
Abby Bang (Montgomery, MA/Gateway Regional) won two events and Cortland as a team posted season highs for floor exercise, uneven bars and total score in the Red Dragons' 187.90-184.475 dual-meet loss to visiting Ithaca College. The meet was part of the "Rumble & Tumble" event along with the wrestling team hosting Ithaca.

Cortland won floor exercise with a season-best 48.10, including the top three individual finishers. Bang won the event with a career-high 9.80, followed by
Kamryn Rodriguez (Middletown/Minisink Valley) in second with a 9.75 and
Gabrielle Nadler (Potomac, MD/Richard Montgomery) in third with a season/career high 9.65. Bang also tied for first place on vault with a 9.55.

The Red Dragons' season high of 44.45 on uneven bars was highlighted by
Bianca Carr's (Tappan/Tappan Zee) season-best 9.225 for fourth place,
Gracie Gallagher (Hudson, OH) in fifth place with a season-high 8.975, and
Samantha Nothnagel (Vail, CO/Eagle Valley) in sixth with an 8.95. Carr also registered a career-high 9.50 on floor (seventh place), while on balance beam Nothnagel finished fourth (9.575) and
Bryanna DeAngelis (Miller Place) finished sixth (9.325).

Delaney Brown (Peru) competed in the all-around and posted a final score of 35.30 that included a fourth-place effort on vault (9.425) and a season/career-high tying 9.40 on floor.

Ithaca's Nicole Lonski won bars (9.75) and Amelia Bailey won beam (9.80). Nya Pauldon tied Bang for top honors on vault (9.55) and Skye Cohen was the all-around winner (37.175).

Cortland will travel to Ithaca Sunday for the Harriet Marranca Invitational, which will feature the Red Dragons, Ithaca and Brockport.

We had a great fight today from all of our Red Dragons. It's so encouraging to see so many career and season high scores now that we are halfway through our competitive season. I am very happy with how aggressively they all went for their skills and how badly they wanted to show this huge crowd tonight everything they have been working on this year.
What a fun event sharing the space with Cortland Wrestling. Thank you to all of the volunteers who helped us set up and clean up, and for all of our Cortland teams and administrators who came to support us. We all felt "One Team One Family" tonight!Â
