CORTLAND, N.Y. –

Top-seeded Cortland (21-4) will face second-seeded and two-time defending league champion New Paltz in the championship game Saturday at 4 p.m. at Corey Gymnasium. New Paltz (19-6) defeated third-seeded Geneseo, 53-41, in Friday night's first semifinal game. New Paltz defeated Cortland at New Paltz in the 2020 SUNYAC title game the last time the conference tournament was held.
Travers hit 8-of-11 shots from the field, including 3-of-4 attempts from the 3-point arc. She was one of three Cortland double-figure scorers.
Corinne Miedreich (Pearl River) finished with 14 points, five rebounds and three steals and
Maggie Malone (Cornwall) scored 12 points and grabbed six rebounds.
Shannon McGuire (West Babylon) added nine points and three assists and

Oneonta trailed 16-10 after one quarter but hung tough in the second and trailed by only two, 33-31, at halftime after an Amanda Zuntag layup with less than 30 seconds remaining.
Cortland opened up a 13-point lead twice in the third quarter, the second time at 54-41 on a Travers layup with 1:59 on the clock. Oneonta scored the next six points, four by Dobrovosky, to climb back within seven, but Malone banked in a long 3-pointer at the buzzer and Cortland led 57-47 entering the fourth.
Oneonta scored the first points of the fourth on a Stephens' 3-pointer with 8:27 left, but from that point Cortland held the visiting Red Dragons scoreless for almost eight minutes. Cortland's 12-0 run during that stretch featured baskets by Malone,
Jess Womble (Wheatley Heights/Half Hollow Hills East) and Travers, two straight buckets from Miedreich, and two Travers free throws. Oneonta ended its drought with a layup with 45 seconds remaining to create the final margin.
Cortland shot 40 percent from the field and 36 percent (10-of-28) from the 3-point arc while limiting Oneonta to 29 percent shooting overall and 27 percent (4-of-15) from deep.
