Cortland Hits Season Highs for Total Score and Two Events in Home Tri-Meet

Bianca Carr recorded a career high on floor exercise and tied her career best on uneven bars
CORTLAND, N.Y. – The Cortland women's gymnastics team registered season highs for total score and in two events during a home tri-meet with Brockport and Ithaca. The Red Dragons posted a final score of 184.65. Brockport won the meet at 190.70 and Ithaca was second at 189.775. Cortland's total included season bests on balance beam (46.25) and floor exercise (48.25).
 
Kamryn Rodriguez (Middletown/Minisink Valley) led Cortland with a third-place finish on floor exercise (9.775). Abby Bang (Montgomery, MA/Gateway Regional) tied for fourth on floor with a 9.75 and matched her career high on vault with a fifth-place score of 9.625.
 
Bianca Carr (Tappan/Tappan Zee) tied her career high on uneven bars with a 9.25, good for sixth place, and she was 12th on floor with a career-high 9.575. Bryanna DeAngelis (Miller Place) tied for sixth on beam (9.525).
 
Samantha Nothnagel (Vail, CO/Eagle Valley) finished eighth on beam (9.50) and was 11th on both vault (season-high 9.45) and bars (8.925). Gracie Gallagher (Hudson, OH) was ninth on beam with a career-best 9.475, while Delaney Brown (Peru) tied for 10th on floor (season/career high 9.60) and recorded a second-place all-around score of 35.80. Two other Red Dragons put up season/career bests during the meet - Lucy De Michele (Croton-on-Hudson/Croton-Harmon) on vault (9.275) and Zoe Potamianos (Jamesville/Jamesville-DeWitt) on floor (9.55).
 
Brockport had three event winners - Sydney Schumaker on vault (9.825), Maya Pecoraro and Natalie Galioto tied on beam (9.725), and Alexis Castellaneta on floor (9.825). Ithaca's Zoe Kyriakopoulos won bars (9.65) and the Bombers' Skye Cohen won the all-around (37.525).
 
Cortland closes the regular season next Sunday at 2 p.m. with a home tri-meet against Brockport and Rhode Island College.
