INDIANAPOLIS, IND. – SUNY Cortland senior Taylor Williams (Slate Hill/Minisink Valley) earned honorable mention All-America honors with a 16th-place finish in 1-meter diving at the NCAA Division III Women's Swimming and Diving Championships.

The four-day championship meet is being conducted at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis' IU Natatorium. Williams will compete in the 3-meter competition on Saturday, the final day of the meet.

Williams was in 16th place out of 29 divers through the 11-dive preliminaries with a score of 372.65 points. The top eight finishers after prelims advanced to the finals, while places 9-16 earned a spot in the consolation finals.

In the consolation finals, divers repeat the final six dives from prelims and replace those scores. Williams improved slightly to 372.75 points and remained in 16th place.

The first through eighth finishers in the event earn All-America honors, with ninth through 16th place receiving honorable mention All-America recognition.

Williams was an All-American previously in 2020. During that year, the NCAA championship was canceled due to COVID-19 and all national qualifiers were recognized as All-Americans.

Cortland's previous women's All-America divers include: Miranda Fergus (honorable mention 1-meter in 2014 and 2015);  Becky Drake (honorable mention 3-meter in 1993 and 1-meter in 1991); Dana Cutri (honorable mention 1-meter and 3-meter in 1992); Laura Landry (1-meter and national champion 3-meter in 1989); Pam Dworakowski (honorable mention 1-meter and 3-meter in 1986 and 1987); Lori Lawler (1-meter and 3-meter in 1985 and 1986); and Lorie Brown (3-meter in 1980).
