Glynis Curcione Breaks School Record on Uneven Bars During Home Quad Meet

CORTLAND, N.Y. – Junior Glynis Curcione (Wilson) broke the school record on uneven bars with her winning score of 9.875 and Cortland registered team season highs for total score, bars and balance beam, as the Red Dragons finished second in a home quad meet to wrap up the regular season. 
 
Cortland finished the day with a score of 188.25. Brockport placed first with a 191.90, with Cortland finishing ahead of Rhode Island College (187.025) and Ursinus (186.10). Cortland's season-best team scored featured a 46.925 on bars and a 46.575 on beam. 
 
Curcione, returning to action for the first time since Jan. 22, set a school record on bars with her 9.875 performance. The previous school record was 9.825 set by Sidney McConnell at the 2018 NCGA East Championships. Curcione previously ranked fourth in school history on bars with a 9.775 during the 2019-20 season. 
 
Abby Bang (Montgomery, MA/Gateway Regional) tied for second on vault with a career-high 9.675 and tied for eighth on floor exercise with a 9.525. Rianna Adams (South Setauket/Ward Melville) tied for third on bars with a career/season best of 9.65, and Kamryn Rodriguez (Middletown/Minisink Valley) placed fourth on both beam (season-high tying 9.65) and floor (9.725). 
 
Delaney Brown (Peru) tied for seventh place on vault with a 9.50 and she posted a career/season high 9.35 to finish 13th on beam. Gabrielle Nadler (Potomac, MD/Richard Montgomery) tied for eighth on floor (9.525), and she also recorded a career/season high with a 9.25 on beam. Bianca Carr (Tappan/Tappan Zee) was 13th on uneven bars (career-high 9.325) and Zoe Potamianos (Jamesville/Jamesville-DeWitt) tied for 13th on floor (9.425). 
 
Brockport's Alexis Castellaneta won both beam (9.775) and floor (9.80). Rhode Island College's Olivia Keyes tied for first with Castellaneta on floor (9.80) and won the all-around (38.40). Brockport's Sydney Schumaker was the vault winner (9.75). 
 
Following the meet, Cortland's Senior Day celebration recognized Rodriguez and Samantha Nothnagel (Vail, CO/Eagle Valley), along with former Red Dragon competitor and current assistant coach Megan Hanley. Nothnagel posted a career-high on uneven bars during the meet with a 9.175. 
 
Cortland will compete at the NCGA East Regional Championships on Saturday, March 12, at Springfield College. The top three team finishers at the six-team event qualify for the NCGA Championships March 26 at Ithaca.
