PHILADELPHIA, PA. –
Ryan Cory (Beacon) finished in 55th place out of 70 runners in the 5,000-meter run at The Penn Relays Thursday evening. Cory was the lone Cortland competitor at the historic meet, which is being conducted over three days at Franklin Field at the University of Pennsylvania.

Cortland will send competitors this Saturday to the Shippensburg (Pa.) University Paul Kaiser Classic.
Coach's Corner - Comments from Cortland Head Coach Steve Patrick:
Well, it wasn't the race we came here to have, but we can use this as a good learning experience as we head into the championship season. Big events like this are a different animal - much like the NCAA meet is a different animal - so the learning that can come out of this can be pretty invaluable. Ryan's shown himself to be quite tough, so I'm confident he'll learn from this and add it to his fire!
