CORTLAND, N.Y. – The top-seeded Cortland men's lacrosse team went on a nine-goal run to open the second quarter to erase a one-goal deficit and went on to defeat fourth-seeded Oneonta, 19-13, Wednesday afternoon in the semifinals of the SUNYAC Men's Lacrosse Tournament. The home Red Dragons improved to 12-6 and will host second-seeded Geneseo in the title game, Saturday, at 4 p.m. The visiting Red Dragons finished their season at 4-11.

Troy Morris (Long Beach) led Cortland with four goals. Senior

Travis Wagner (Penfield) started in goal for the Red Dragons, stopping eight shots in 52:37 before giving way to junior
Matt Stento (Bethlehem), who made one save over the final 7:23. Freshman
Owen Neubauer (Monroe-Monroe-Woodbury) won 18-of-28 faceoffs and collected six ground balls. Freshman
Alex Thrasher (Vestal) secured seven ground balls and caused two turnovers, graduate student
Mike Nicholson (North Babylon/St. Anthony's) registered three ground balls and two caused turnovers and Smeader contributed five ground balls and two caused turnovers.
Sophomore Luke Maslin (Owego/Owego Free Academy) scored three goals and added an assist for Oneonta. Sophomore Matthew Krieg (Port Jefferson Station/Comsewogue) tallied a game-high seven points on two goals and five assists. Senior Dean Cannon (Clifton Park/Shenendehowa), junior Kieran Rowley (Long Beach) and freshman Vincent Tirino (Port Jefferson Station/Comsewogue) each scored two goals. Junior Jack Dinnegan (Blauvelt/Tappan Zee) recorded one goal and one assist, sophomore Ben Konak (South Salem/John Jay) netted a goal, and juniors Connor Gallagher (Montrose/Hendrick Hudson) and Sam Haita (Stephentown/La Salle Institute) chipped in with one assist apiece.
Junior goalie Luke Mignoli (Long Beach) turned aside 17 shots for the visiting Red Dragons. Sophomore Jesse AlfanoStJohn (Westhampton Beach) scooped up seven ground balls and caused three turnovers. Dinnegan added three ground balls and two caused turnovers, freshman Stephen Barikyan (Tappan/Tappan Zee) secured four ground balls and senior Timothy Shanley (West Hempstead) won eight faceoffs.
