The Development office of the Cortland College Foundation is welcoming back football alumni again this fall to each of the five home contests.

These game day alumni reunions will kick off on Saturday, Sept. 3, versus Wittenberg University at the home opener, calling on football seniors from 1980-87 to return to Cortland and cheer on the Red Dragons. Though football alumni are always welcome to return throughout the season, below is a schedule of those team years identified for each Saturday this fall. Invites will continue to be sent out through the email addresses the Foundation has on file.

Two hours prior to kickoff, a pre-game event will occur in the Park Center. Along with the embrace with fellow teammates, the event features an opportunity to meet Head Coach Curt Fitzpatrick and an update on the Football 100 Club, the fundraising initiative for Cortland Football. Refreshments will be provided under cover at the game site, and returning alumni also will be acknowledged through a public address announcement during each game.

At this moment the 100 Club has expanded to approximately 60 members, with a goal to secure 100 donors, each contributing $7,500. Funds are solely for the football program, providing immediate use while also building a $500,000 endowment. Once fully endowed, the principal will generate approximately $20,000 a year to be spent under the discretion of the head coach.

"There are many reasons to support this great incentive and cause," said Head Football Coach Emeritus Dan MacNeill '79, the host of these events. "We all look to serve the Red Dragon which served us well. This season we round out the return of all those who played with the "C" on their helmet. For me, what a great opportunity to embrace those who I coached along with the potential return of former Head Coach David Murray in Week 2. Special is our program, our cause, and this incentive. Let's get together to celebrate as teammates and join the 100 Club while enabling Coach Fitzpatrick to enhance our special tradition."

Sept. 3 vs. Wittenberg - senior teammates from 1980 to 1987
Sept. 10 vs. The College of New Jersey - senior teammates from 1988 to 1996
Oct. 1 vs. Morrisville State - senior teammates from 1997 to 2005
Oct. 15 vs. Hartwick - senior teammates from 2006 to 2014
Nov. 5 vs. St. John Fisher - senior teammates from 2015 to 2021
