Cortland freshman defenseman Ainsley Delacourt (Stoney Creek, ON/Brampton Canadettes U22AA) has been selected as the Northeast Women's Hockey League (NEWHL) Rookie of the Week for the week ending Jan. 8. 
 
Delacourt helped lead the Red Dragons to a pair of conference victories over the weekend, registering three points on two goals and one assist with a plus-2 rating. 
  
In a 2-1 overtime win at Morrisville on Friday, Delacourt assisted on Cortland's first goal at 9:14 of the first period and netted the game-winning goal 1:55 into the extra session. In a 6-0 home victory versus the Mustangs the following day, Delacourt scored the Red Dragons' second goal on the power play 23 seconds before the end of the first period. 
  
Through 11 games, Delacourt had three goals and six assists for nine points along with a plus-8 plus/minus rating. 
 
Cortland is 6-2 in NEWHL play and 9-3 overall (including a win this Tuesday at Hilbert that's not included in the weekly award). The Red Dragons will host Canton on Friday at 7 p.m. and Buffalo State Saturday at 3 p.m. in league games.
