Box Score PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – The nationally 13th-ranked Plattsburgh men's hockey team held on for a 2-1 win versus Cortland Saturday night in SUNYAC action. The Red Dragons dropped to 11-7-1 overall and 6-4 in the conference, while the Cardinals improved to 13-4-2 and 7-2-1.

Junior Sutter Donegan (Cicero/Buffalo Jr. Sabres) scored Cortland's goal. Seniors Giancarlo Romano (Yorktown/Connecticut RoughRiders) and Nick Grupp (Depwe/Brantford 99ers) assisted on the goal. Senior goalie Luca Durante (Brampton,ON/Aurora Tigers) registered 47 saves.

Joshua Belgrave and Bennett Stockdale netted the goals for Plattsburgh. Jacob Modry recorded two assists, and Trey Thomas and Carson Gallagher each picked up an assist. Goalie Eli Shiller made 11 saves.

After a scoreless first period, Belgrave gave Plattsburgh the lead at 9:36 of the second period with a sharp-angle shot from deep in the right circle. Donegan tied the game at 3:04 of the third period when he deflected in a slap shot from the right point by Romano after Cortland's fore check kept the puck in Plattsburgh's defensive zone.

Stockdale netted the game winner at 13:51 of the third period when he possessed the puck off the end board after a wide shot and scored on a wraparound shot on the left side. Cortland pulled Durante for an extra skater with just under a minute to play but could not score the equalizer as the Cardinals held on for the 2-1 win.
