CORTLAND, N.Y. – The Cortland and Geneseo women's soccer teams played to a 0-0 tie in SUNYAC action Saturday afternoon at Holloway Field. The scoreless draw is Cortland's second in the last three games, while the Knights have had three scoreless ties in the last five games.

Junior goalie Kristen Spendal (Dumont, NJ) made four saves for Cortland (7-2-3, 3-0-2 SUNYAC). Junior goalie Mollie Collins (Orchard Park) registered two saves for Geneseo (5-2-5, 1-0-4 SUNYAC).

Geneseo outshot Cortland, 7-2, in the opening half, forcing Spendal to make all four of her saves in the opening 45 minutes of play. The Red Dragons turned the tide in the second half, controlling more of the play and holding a 10-5 shot advantage but couldn't break through the Geneseo defense. Senior Simone Neivel (Baldwinsville/C.W. Baker) led the way for the Red Dragons with six shots in the game.

The Knights created the only two real threats in the game in the second half. Senior Liv Raucci (Rotterdam/Mohonasen) hit the right post with an 18-yard shot in the 73rd minute, and senior Juliette Frischmann (Brighton) barely missed wide right on a breakaway in the 84th minute after Spendal charged off her line to force an early shot.
