GENESEO, N.Y. – The Geneseo men's soccer team scored first-half goals just under seven minutes apart and held on for a 2-1 victory versus nationally 15th-ranked Cortland Saturday afternoon in SUNYAC action. The Red Dragons dropped to 10-2-1 overall and 4-1 in the conference and had their 11-game unbeaten streak snapped. The Knights improved to 6-5-2 and 2-3.

Yasin Choukri (Wilton, CT) scored Cortland's goal. Junior
Matt Shultz (Oneonta) collected an assist. Sophomore goalie
Jordan Ott (Fort Worth, TX/Southwest Christian) stopped one shot.
Justin Arilotta tallied both of Geneseo's goals. Ben Sanchez picked up an assist. Goalie Vincent Maronski registered seven saves, five in the second half.
Arilotta gave the Knights the lead in the 13th minute off an assist from Sanchez. He then made it a 2-0 game in the 20th minute with his eighth goal of the season. Choukri put Cortland on the scoreboard in the 60th minute, scoring on a one-time shot from the corner of the six-yard box on a cross off the end line by Shultz. The Red Dragons pressed for the equalizer but couldn't record the game-tying goal as Geneseo held on for the 2-1 win.
