CORTLAND, N.Y. – The nationally 11th-ranked Cortland women's hockey team skated to a 0-0 overtime tie versus Oswego Friday night in SUNYAC action at Alumni Arena.
Junior goalie
Molly Goergen (Eden Prairie, MN/Eden Prairie H.S.) made 25 saves for the Red Dragons (6-0-1, 3-0-1) in posting her second shutout of the season. Junior goalie Lexi Levy (St. Louis, MO/Post University) stopped 38 shots for the Lakers (3-2-1, 1-2-1).
Cortland outshot Oswego, 38-25, in the game, including 8-1 in the five-minute overtime period in which the Red Dragons had an early power play. Overall, Cortland went 0-for-4 with the skater advantage, and the Lakers went 0-for-1.
Both Goergen and Levy made several key saves in the third period, with Goergen denying 12 shots and Levy turning aside 11 shots.
