Cortland Locks Down SUNY Poly, 88-31

UTICA, N.Y. – Cortland's defense held SUNY Poly to just 18 points over the final three quarters and the Red Dragons defeated the WIldcats, 88-31, in a women's basketball non-league game. 
 
Cortland (5-3) was led by Logan Streety (Elma/Iroquois) with 19 points and 11 rebounds, along with two blocks and two steals. She made 9-of-11 shots from the floor. Brianna Cinque (Staten Island/Tottenville) scored a career-high 16 points on 7-of-10 shooting in just 14 minutes. Brooke Tillotson (Marathon) finished with 10 points, four assists and a career-high tying four steals and Kaeli McAnally (Islip) added 10 points and three assists. 
 
Also for the Red Dragons, Abby Wilkinson (Cato/Bishop Grimes) made all four of her shots, including a 3-pointer, for nine points. Jackie Funk (Penfield) ended with eight points and three steals and Haley Potenza (East Aurora) registered career bests of four assists and two steals. 
 
Aliva Turk led SUNY Poly (1-8) with 16 points and grabbed six rebounds. Alysa Jackson scored seven points and Patricia Vanlue led the Wildcats with eight rebounds. 
 
Cortland finished at 52 percent shooting from the field. The Red Dragons sank 10-of-28 3-pointers. SUNY Poly was held to 24 percent overall from the floor and 1-of-11 from the arc. 
 
Cortland led 23-13 after one quarter and opened the second quarter on a 7-2 run to take a 30-13 lead. The Red Dragons were up 41-19 at halftime and extended the margin to 45 points, 69-24, after three quarters. Cortland's largest lead was 58 points at 85-27 with about three minutes left.
