CORTLAND, N.Y. – Cortland earned two individual event victories during a 188.40-186.375 home dual-meet setback to Springfield College. Gianna Mirigliano (Springfield, PA) won vault with a 9.625 and Glynis Curcione (Buffalo/Wilson Central) was victorious on uneven bars with a season-high tying 9.75. 
 
Rianna Adams (South Setauket) finished second behind Curcione on bars with a season-best 9.60. Mirigliano, in addition to her won on vault, tied for third on floor exercise with a season/career-best tying 9.725. She was also the lone all-around competitor with a score of 36.50. 
 
Abby Bang (Montgomery, MA/Gateway Regional) tied for third in two events. She posted a season-high 9.725 on floor exercise and scored a 9.55 on vault. Victoria Justincic (East Northport/John Glenn) finished fifth on balance beam with a 9.40 and Ava Miranov (Morgantown, WV/University) tied for fifth on bars with a 9.025. 
 
Devon Rosier led Springfield with a victory on balance beam (9.60) and a tie for first, with teammate Christina Wygonik, on floor exercise (9.75). 
 
Cortland held a slight 93.00-92.70 lead after the first two rotations, vault and uneven bars. The teams also were close on floor, with Springfield holding a slight 48.35-48.175 edge. The Pride, however, earned their victory based on their performance on balance beam. Springfield took the top four spots in the event and outscored Cortland, 47.35-45.20. 
 
Cortland will host Ithaca next Sunday, Feb. 26, at 1 p.m. in the Red Dragons' final home meet of the season.

Coach's Corner - Comments from Cortland Head Coach Sulekha Modi Zaug:

We saw some big improvements as a team on bars, even without a key player here today, beam continues to be a struggle and will be a big focus for us this week in practice. I was so impressed with the strength and execution of our floor routines today and the heart they showed as they performed. We look forward to celebrating our seniors and alumni next weekend again at home!
