CORTLAND, N.Y. – Graduate student
Hannah Keech (Penn Yan/Penn Yan Academy) scored a career-high eight goals, all in the opening half, to lead the top-seeded and nationally 20th-ranked Cortland women's lacrosse team to a 19-8 win versus fourth-seeded Brockport Wednesday night in the semifinals of the SUNYAC Women's Lacrosse Tournament.
The Red Dragons won their 11th straight game, improving to 14-3 on the season, and host second-seeded Geneseo in the championship game on Saturday at 1 p.m. The Golden Eagles ended their season at 8-8.

Margaret Morgan (New Fairfield, CT) stopped seven shots for the Red Dragons. Hoeffner won nine draws and scooped up six ground balls. Rempe added three draws, and graduate student
Amanda Squillini (Stony Point/North Rockland) secured four ground balls.
Senior Courtney Cunningham (Poughquag/Arlington) led Brockport with four goals and seven draws. Sophomore Alayna Foos (Auburn) netted three goals, and senior Cassidy Burnash (Sackets Harbor/South Jefferson) tallied a goal and an assist.
Senior Erin Lant (Queensbury) started in goal, making six saves in a total of 47:10. Freshman Hannah Parsons (Penn Yan/Penn Yan Academy) saw 12:50 of action in between Lant's time in the cage, making three saves. Junior Paige Thowe (Burnt Hills) caused two turnovers, while Cunningham and junior Alexandria VanDerKar (Averill Park) each scooped up two ground balls.
The Golden Eagles took an early 2-0 lead on goals from Foos and Cunningham before Cortland closed the first quarter with 10 of the next 11 goals for a 10-4 lead. Keech scored six times during the first 15 minutes of play. The advantage grew to 14-3 at the half as Keech netted a pair of goals and Cashman and Hoeffner each scored.
The Red Dragon lead improved to 18-4 through three quarters before the Golden Eagles earned a 4-1 scoring edge over the last 15 minutes for the 19-8 final.
