Cortland Defeats Utica, 52-5, in Home Dual Match

CORTLAND, N.Y. – The Cortland wrestling team, behind two pins, two technical falls and five forfeit wins, defeated visiting Utica University, 52-5, in a dual match at Utica University.
 
Cortland (4-5) received pins from Culley Bellino (Canastota) at 141 pounds in 1:29 and Roman Jellick (Johnson City/Maine-Endwell) in 56 seconds at 197 pounds. Kyle Klein (Miller Place) won by a 17-1 technical fall in 4:14 at 157 pounds and Hunter Hughes (Selden/Newfield) won by a 19-2 technical fall in five minutes at 165 pounds. Bellino and Hughes both reached the 20-win plateau for the season. Of Bellino's 20 wins, 16 have come by pin.
 
The Red Dragons picked up forfeit wins by Christian Lievano (East Setauket/Ward Melville) at 125, Noah Orser (Carmel) at 149, Dan Cassera (East Setauket/Ward Melville) at 174, Robby Cunningham (Miller Place) at 184 and Dylan Houseknecht (Odessa/Odessa-Montour) at 285. In addition, Lievano and Justin Amendola (Rocky Point) each registered pins in exhibition matches following the dual.
 
Utica (2-3) earned its points with a technical fall by Trevor Cortright by a 16-1 score in 5:59 at 133 pounds.
