Kaz Kadota-Browner set a school record with his score of 509.90 points in the 1-meter competition
ITHACA, N.Y. – Cortland diver
Kaz Kadota-Browner (Jericho) set a school record on the 1-meter board to highlight the Red Dragons' performances at the Dick Comanzo Diving Invitational Sunday at Ithaca College.
Kadota-Browner finished second out 19 competitors in the men's 1-meter competition with an 11-dive score of 508.50 points, eclipsing the previous school record of 500.55 points set in 2017. Kadota-Browner was also Cortland's top finisher on the 3-meter board with a second-place score of 517.70 points in a 16-diver field.
Lance Meeson (Clifton Park/Shenendehowa) finished third on both boards, posting a score of 467.10 points on the 1-meter board and 482.65 points in the 3-meter competition.
Calvin Eggleston (Antwerp/Indian River) finished 12th on 1-meter (385.30) and 11th on 3-meter (369.80) and
Alex Hilldale (Binghamton/Chenango Valley) was 11th on 3-meter (409.60) and 13th on 1-meter (383.80).
In the women's competition,
Madison Heffern (Gilbert, AZ/Gilbert Christian) placed eighth of 16 on the 1-meter board (327.55) and ninth of 12 on 3-meter (323.85).
Alyssa Haberlack (Long Beach) was eighth on 3-meter (334.10) and ninth on 1-meter (326.40), while
Samantha Matthes (Saint James/Smithtown East) was 10th on 3-meter (323.75) and 11th on 1-meter (313.30).
