CORTLAND, N.Y. – The Cortland women's ice hockey team improved to 11-3-1 on the season with a 3-1 home victory versus Manhattanville Tuesday night in non-conference action at Alumni Arena.

Senior Molly McCabe (Webster/18UAA Webster) led the Red Dragons with a goal and an assist. Junior Meggan Cramer (Cicero/Northwood School) and sophomore Ainsley Delacourt (Stoney Creek, ON/Brampton Canadettes) each netted a goal. Graduate student Dany Donegan (Cicero/Syracuse Nationals), senior Jillian Hlasnick (Olean/Niagara Jr. Purple Eagles), junior Natalie O'Brien (Lockport/Niagara Jr. Purple Eagles) and freshmen Drew Kopek (Rome/Syracuse Valley Eagles) and McKenzie Brown (Peru/Lovell Academy) collected one assist apiece. Freshman goalie Maggie Dickinson (Bowmanville, ON/Toronto Leaside) stopped 11 shots.

Senior Lindsay Reyes, who previously played for Cortland, scored an unassisted goal for the Valiants (3-9-1). Graduate student goalie Franny Gerardi registered 43 saves.

After a scoreless first period in which the Red Dragons held a commanding 14-3 shot advantage, Delacourt gave Cortland the lead at 11:39 of the second period with a wrist shot from the left circle for her first goal of the season. Cramer made it a 2-0 score just over five minutes later with her seventh goal of the season after Donegan won a faceoff in the Valiants' defensive zone.

Reyes cut Cortland's lead to 2-1 at 13:29 of the third period when she possessed a loose puck and scored on a breakaway. McCabe added an insurance goal on the power play at 16:03 for a 3-1 Red Dragon lead. Manhattanville was awarded a power play with 2:22 remaining and pulled Gerardi for an extra skater. The Valiants had a two-player advantage for 1:47 but could not take advantage. With 35 seconds on the clock, Gerardi was sent back into the goal, Cortland's penalty expired and the Red Dragons sealed the 3-1 win.
