ONEONTA, N.Y. - The nationally-14th ranked Cortland men's soccer team fell behind in the first half, and couldn't find the back of the net for the first time this season, in a 4-0 defeat on the road to Oneonta on Wednesday evening. Cortland falls to 6-2-3 (0-1-1 SUNYAC) on the year, while Oneonta improves to 6-1-3 (2-0-0 SUNYAC).

Scott Schuyler (Cincinnatus) had two of Cortland's three shots on goal, while
Matt Shultz (Oneonta) had the other shot on goal.
Will Stanley (Virginia Beach, VA/Floyd E. Kellam) started in goal and allowed four goals in 62:01, while
Luke van Galen (Georgetown, MA) played the final 27:59.

Luigi Prosperi scored twice for Oneonta, while Ali Somow had a goal and an assist. Derek Marques scored for Oneonta, while Zach Rabadi assisted a pair of goals. AJ Lucas stopped all three shots he faced for the shutout.

Oneonta opened the scoring in the 19th minute, as Prosperi netted his fourth goal of the season off of an assist from Somow. Stanley made all three of his saves in the opening 25 minutes of the contest.

Oneonta was able to double its advantage in the 31st minute with Prosperi's second goal of the game, this time assisted by Rabadi. In the 40th minute, Oneonta extended the lead to 3-0. Cortland had just one shot on target in the first half, with Shultz's shot being saved by Lucas.

Oneonta continued to control play in the second half, eventually extending the lead to four in the 59th minute. After the fourth Oneonta goal, neither team registered a shot on target the rest of the contest as Oneonta secured the victory.
