ROME, N.Y. - Cortland finished in 11th place out of 14 teams at the Hamilton College Women's Golf Invitational, held Saturday and Sunday at the Rome Country Club.

The Red Dragons posted a 350 on Saturday and a 354 on Sunday for a 704. Wellesley and Amherst tied for first with scores of 622. The tournament featured five nationally ranked teams - Wellesley (9th), Amherst (13th), Williams (6th), Hamilton (23rd) and Middlebury (24th).

Gina Milazzo (Greenwood Lake/Warwick Valley) tied for 40th place out of 80 golfers with a 167. She scored an 81 Saturday and an 86 Sunday on the par-72 course. She had a birdie and 10 pars on Day 1 and eight pars on Day 2. Babson's Menglu Alice Zhu, Wellesley's Audrey Wang and Amherst's Abby Kim tied for the best score, each with a 151.

Sophie Oristian (North Potomac, MD/Quince Orchard) tied for 54th with a 173 (89-84). Her second round included a birdie and seven pars.
Pia Aguilar (Santiago, Chile/Colegio Highlands) (89-93-182) and
Mimi Rienzo (Stewartsville, NJ/Phillipsburg) (91-91-182) tied for 65th and
Kara Dumas (Jefferson/Gilboa-Conesville) finished 70th (101-95-196).

Cortland closes its fall schedule next Friday and Saturday at the Northeast Women's Golf Conference (NWGC) Fall Classic. The opening day is at Van Patten Golf Club in Clifton Park and the second day is at the Mohawk River Country Club in Rexford. The tournament is not the conference championship - that will be held next April in Bloomfield, Conn.
