WILLIAMSTOWN, MASS. - The Cortland wrestling team went 1-2 at a duals tournament hosted by Williams College, falling 44-7 to the nationally 17th-ranked host school and 42-9 to Roger Williams before defeating Utica, 51-0.
 
Cortland is 1-3 on the season and will host the Red Dragon Duals on Saturday at noon. Alfred State will face St. John Fisher at noon, followed by Cortland versus St. John Fisher and Cortland versus Alfred State.
 
Cortland's wins versus Williams came from Cade Sands (Addison/Addison Central) by a 12-5 decision at 125 pounds and Rocco Futia (Wallkill) with a 15-7 major decision at 133 pounds. Sands also won by injury default versus Roger Williams and Cody Merwin (Walton) won in overtime at 133 pounds.

Cortland's sweep versus Utica featured pins by Sands at 125, Dom Vinci (Spencerport) at 141, Tristan Robinson-July (Ossining) at 165 and Oscar De Avila (Long Beach) at 174, along with a technical fall by Shane Walczyk (Eden) at 149 and a 12-4 major decision by David Ensminger (Clifton Park/Shenendehowa) at 157. Futia and Seth Parker (Moravia) earned decisions at 133 and 285, respectively, and Robby Cunningham (Miller Place) and Bryson Tibbs (Middletown) won by forfeit at 184 and 197, respectively.
